Admission Requirements: Pre-MS in MIS and MS in MIS

Pre-MS in MIS

A student may be admitted with a Pre-MS in MIS status if he or she has a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education with an overall grade point average of 2.7 (4.0 scale) or a 3.0 in the last 60 hours of upper-division hours. Students admitted with Pre-MS in MIS status are limited to enrolling in the Foundations courses for their respective programs.

MS in MIS

To be admitted into the MIS master's program, a student must have at least a 2.7 overall undergraduate grade point average (or a 3.0 on the last 60 hours) plus a minimum of 480 on the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT).

International students must have a score of 550 or more on the paper based Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).

An applicant who attains at least a 480 on the GMAT, but whose GPA is below the required level may be admitted on a conditional basis. Conditional admission will depend on undergraduate performance, GMAT score, other relevant measures of scholastic performance, a record of successful employment at increasing levels of responsibility, and recommendations.

Conditionally admitted students must receive a grade of at least B in all courses taken during the first 12 hours. After this point, the conditional status will be removed. Students should submit a UALR graduate application, official transcripts from all schools attended, and the official GMAT score report from ETS.

Applicants are urged to have their applications and all supporting material in by the priority deadline of August 1st for fall admission and by December 1st for spring admission.
