Welcome to the College of Business at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
We are Central Arkansas's leading professional business school, dedicated to providing traditional and non-traditional students the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in today's competitive business environment. Located in the state capital, UALR and the College of Business are in the center of the state's business and government activities.
Our undergraduate degrees in accounting, business economics, entrepreneurship, finance, real estate, insurance, financial planning, management, human resource management, international business, management information systems, marketing, and advertising are available during both day and evening. Both management and human resource management are available entirely online. In addition, business minors are available to complement your specific interests.
We offer the state's premier Executive MBA program, and have the largest accredited MBA program in Central Arkansas. We also offer a Master of Science in Management Information Systems and graduate certificate programs in Taxation, Accountancy, and Management. The MBA program is offered in the evening and through distance education at Arkansas Community College at Batesville and Southern Arkansas University at El Dorado and Magnolia.
A professional business education combines the academic framework of analysis with the application of discipline knowledge to real-world challenges. The UALR College of Business differentiates itself by providing a strong academic framework that is enhanced by a professionally active faculty. The faculty possesses strong academic credentials, with nearly all holding PhD's, many holding professional designations (CPA's, J.D.'s and CFA's), and most actively engaged in research. In addition, nearly half of the faculty is actively involved with business through consulting or other professional activities. This unique combination of academic knowledge and professional expertise enables the faculty to enrich the classroom through applied, experience-based, and active learning.
Economic Development
Please take a moment to navigate our web site to see the opportunities available to you. Be sure to access the sites of the Arkansas Small Business Development Center (ASBDC) and the Institute for Economic Advancement (IEA). In addition to providing extensive consulting and economic development services to businesses and agencies throughout the state, ASBDC and IEA partner with the academic departments of the college to enhance student experiences and learning.
Accreditation
The College of Business holds accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) for its undergraduate and graduate programs. Of the more than 1,200 colleges and universities in the United States offering business degrees, only 467 are accredited at both the master's and bachelor's degree levels.
If there is anything I can do to be of assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me. And once again, welcome to the College of Business.
